No moss grows at Milford UMC. We have such a blessing of events that it is hard to keep up! I do so hope that you find one engaging and are able to participate.
Thursday evenings from October 5- November 2 join us for a class on “The Reformation” taught by the one and only Lloyd Kenyon. He is such a gift to our faith community. And this class is timely as we recognize the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. Dessert is at 6:30 and the class begins at 7:00 p.m. This class is absolutely free to you, but there is a donation jar because we like to give Lloyd a little gift at the end, as he does this without charge.
Our annual Apple Festival is Saturday, October 7th, from 9-3. Come and shop the vendors, have some delicious homemade sausage and peppers, and top it off with warm apple crisp!
Sunday afternoon is our annual Church Conference. This year it is held at Port Jervis Drew UMC in Port Jervis, NY. Our business session begins at 2:30, worship at 3:00, and workshops at 4:00. The Workshops are on how to be a disciple of Jesus Christ from greeting the stranger to nurturing others.
On Saturday, October 14th, we are going on a field trip to Historic St George UMC in Philadelphia. We’re taking part in their “Time Traveler” tour which explores our Methodist history through re-enactments. We only have a few seats left for this trip, so please call the office to save a seat for you. The event has already been paid for, but you will need money for lunch and dinner along the way. Find out more about what to expect at http://www.historicstgeorges.org/
And on Sunday, October 15th, in the afternoon we will join with others in the Tri-State to help stop put an end to hunger in the Annual Crop Walk. Registration begins at 1:00 at Airport Park, and the walk, which loops into Port Jervis and back, begins at 2:00. Bring any funds garnered, non-perishable food items, or personal donations, and then walk with fellow believers in doing good.
